Loving the Prophet ﷺ is a very foundational

part of our faith.

And one cannot really truly excel in their

Islam without true love for the Prophet ﷺ.

But the question is, how do we go

about in developing that?

Well, the first thing is that you can't

really truly love someone unless you first know

them.

And so when you learn about them, you

get to know them, then you start to

respect and admire them, and that admiration and

respect further develops into love.

That's why it's said about the Prophet ﷺ,

مَنْ رَآهُ بَدِيهَةً هَابَهُ that when somebody saw

him from a distance, they were very taken

aback by him, impressed by him.

وَمَنْ خَالَتَهُ مَعْرِفَةً أَحَبَّهُ But once somebody got

to know him, they fell in love with

him.

So let's commit ourselves to learning and getting

to know the Prophet ﷺ.

Listen to the seerah podcast, read a book

on the seerah of the Prophet ﷺ, try

to come and attend the seerah intensive, but

learn about the Prophet ﷺ wherever it may

be, however it may be.

Number two is start incorporating some of the

sunnah, the prophetic traditions and the Prophet ﷺ's

practices into your daily life.

Say salam to whoever you meet.

Try to break bread with other people and

share your food with other people.

Start implementing these kinds of prophetic practices and

sunnahs, and it'll help you start to appreciate

him and love him.

And thirdly is that send peace and blessings

and salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ.

الصلاة على النبي Allah tells us in the

Qur'an إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِي

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ أَمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

Indeed Allah and his angels all send peace

and blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.

So you who believe, send peace and blessings

upon him.

Whenever we send peace and blessings upon the

Prophet ﷺ, Allah showers us with a multitude

of blessings.

So incorporate that into your daily life of

sending peace and blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.
