4 Surahs, and that is Surat Al Anfal,

the chapter dealing with the spoils of war,

and Surat Al Tawbah, the chapter of repentance.

And what is amazing about these 2 Surahs,

they detail

the very first major battle in the life

of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, and that

is the Battle of Badr as well as

the last major battle in the life of

the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, that is the

Battle of Tabuk.

Many people, when they read selected verses from

these chapters,

they say, well, Islam is a deen of

violence, it promotes fighting, it promotes, you know,

jihad, but subhanAllah,

these verses when read in context gives one

the understanding

that jihad is implemented.

Fighting is implemented, why? To establish peace and

stability.

In the second chapter, Surat Tawba,

Allah ta'ala

speaks about the Battle of Tabuk and the

great sacrifices that the Muslim underwent. The Muslims,

30,000 strong in the hot summer,

you know, on a long terrain

went to meet the Romans, SubhanAllah.

And Allah Azzawajal

caused no fighting to take place and the

Muslims were successful.

It was a great psychological boost for the

Muslims.

Allah Ta'ala also in Surah Tawba, he mentions

the battle of her name and in the

battle of her name, Allah Ta'ala taught the

believers a very important rule and that is

do not let your numbers amaze

you instead

victory comes from Allah Azzawajal.
