whom ever Allah Subhana, Allah misguides there is nothing that can guide him. And I bear witness
that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah subhanho wa Taala alone and with no partner, and
I bear witness that Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is a slave and his final messenger

And so I asked just for you guys to inshallah concentrate for this little time this time, which is
really a time of incredible baleka just before the first opens, and we're going to need to take a
full advantage of this time but in the later Allah to cover the topic at hand today.

00:02:08 --> 00:02:47
			Seeking a cure from the Noble Quran, this is a topic which is from those topics which Allah Subhana
Allah has commanded us to pay a great deal of attention to when it comes to our knowledge of the
Quran, and our knowledge of the Quran. It has many different branches and today be an ally to Allah
from the various different speakers, you're going to hear many of the different branches that relate
to the knowledge of the the understanding of the Quran and the language of the Quran, the eloquence
of the Quran, and all of the other things. But the topic that we're going to begin with in the topic
that I've been asked to speak about being Elijah Allah is the topic of seeking a cure from the Quran

00:02:47 --> 00:03:15
			what we call an Arabic Alice dish, seeking Shiva, trying to get Shiva trying to get a cure from the
Noble Quran. And we're going to break the talk of being an ally to Allah into a number of different
sections. And for what Allah subhanaw taala makes easy for us. And we want to stop beating later
Allah by mentioning some of the ayat of the Quran, that talk about getting Shiva from the Quran
getting a cure from the Quran.

00:03:16 --> 00:04:02
			And then we're going to talk about the Tafseer on some of the opinions of the scholars of Tafseer.
regarding these particular ayat, after which we're going to look at about eight or so Hadith of the
Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that relate and further clarify about seeking a cure
getting Shiva from the normal Quran, after which be in the light Allah if we have time, we very,
very quickly summarize the different methods of or the means by which that we actually seek this
cure from the Quran. And essentially, we're going to be talking about the different methods of
Rukia, or the different methods of treating illness with the Quran. As opposed to the previous talks

00:04:02 --> 00:04:35
			that I've done. On the topic of things like Rocky, I'm going to try with the lighter Island not to
duplicate anything. Here, we're not going to be talking about black magic, we're not going to be
talking about the jinn specifically, we're talking about something much more general than this.
Shiva in general, from every kind of illness, the illnesses of the heart, the illnesses of the body,
things that are medical conditions through to things that are psychological conditions, all of these
different things we're going to be talking about how the Quran can be a part of the cure that we
seek.

00:04:38 --> 00:04:39
			Allah subhanaw taala

00:04:40 --> 00:05:00
			from the mercy of Allah subhanaw taala is that he has sent down this book to us and this book all of
it is a mercy and a guidance for those who believe. Allah subhanaw taala has taken away the
responsibility of protecting this Quran from us and he himself has taken the responsibility of the
person

00:05:00 --> 00:05:41
			Protection of this Quran, Allah subhanaw taala has made it a source of guidance, a source of correct
and just rulings. Allah subhanaw taala has made it a light and a mercy for those who believe. And
like we said, the Quran has many, many, many aspects. But today we're going to talk about seeking a
cure from the Quran. And we're going to talk about it in a very general sense. So we're talking
about all sicknesses, physical and spiritual, and medicine for the heart, and a medicine for the
body. And there's very, something very special about seeking a cure from the Quran. And one of the
Messiah, he writes in one of his books on this topic, and I have the book in front of me and he

00:05:41 --> 00:05:49
			writes that seeking a cure from the Quran represents the most complete form of belief in the book of
Allah.

00:05:51 --> 00:06:35
			The part of your belief in this Quran, part of your Eman and your tough deal of this court and your
belief in this court and your faith in this Quran is that when you fall sick, whether that is a
sickness of a heart, or the sickness of the body, that you return to this court, and as a means to
cure you. And he says, Not only this, but belief in it and acting upon it. And he said this is
especially important at these times of hours of trial and tribulation, these times when as many as
many sicknesses as we have of the body. And we have many, many sicknesses of the body medical
sicknesses, sicknesses of the mind, psychological sicknesses, things that we have never seen before

00:06:35 --> 00:07:17
			in the previous generations, things that have not been known to the medical professionals who
practice before. We have even more than that, the sicknesses of the heart in these times the trials
and the tribulations, all of the sicknesses of the heart, that the people suffer from, how many they
are, we are living at a time of fitten a time of trials and tribulations. So panela and this is as
the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam foretold it would be so part of us getting
through these trials and tribulations and part of our Eman in Allah subhanaw taala and our belief in
Allah subhanaw taala is that we return to the Quran as our guide and as our cure through all or from

00:07:17 --> 00:07:21
			all sicknesses, both spiritual and physical.

00:07:24 --> 00:08:07
			Starting with the first ayah that we want to have a look at the evidences from the Quran for the
permissibility of seeking a cure from the Quran. The statement of Allah subhanaw taala yeah you
Hannah's cottage at Kumar Ada Tamil, Ravi Kumar, Shiva only Murthy. sudo wa houden wala meaning
Allah subhanaw taala says all mankind, there has come to you an exhortation from your Lord, and a
Shiva and a cure for that which is in the * for that which is in the chest, and the guidance
and the mercy for those who believe.

00:08:08 --> 00:08:54
			If we look briefly at each word, so that we fully understand this ayah so that we can appreciate
just how important because this is the main idea that I'm going to talk about in the talk today in
terms of the ayat of the Quran, Allah subhanaw taala addresses this ayah to all of the people. Yeah,
au hannahs all of the people, all of mankind, not just to the believers, Allah subhanaw taala
doesn't address it. Yeah, you are Latina Am I know. He says yeah, you harness all of mankind. There
has come to you a mower either. What is a Motorola? A Motorola is an exhortation, an admonition a
reminder. Something that our last panel to Allah is encouraging you and reminding you with.

00:08:55 --> 00:09:20
			So there is a motivator that is come to you from your Lord. And this motivator that is come to you
from your Lord, as we will hear from the statement of the manifest serene, this Morita that Allah
subhanaw taala is talking about is the book of Allah. And then Allah subhanaw taala describes the
book of Allah with three things. He says that it is Shiva, that it is a cure. And a Shiva is that
which causes recovery from sickness.

00:09:21 --> 00:09:59
			And if you look, this is completely general. It doesn't say that it is a sort of a cure from a
particular sickness or a particular illness. It's not a cure from laziness, or a cure from sort of
innovation or a cure from desires or a cure from misguidance Allah subhanaw taala generalizes and he
says this book of Allied is a Shiva. It is a cure. And we'll talk later about how Allah subhanaw
taala does not describe it as dela Allah does not describe it as a medicine because the medicine, it
might work, it might not work. You have a headache and you take paracetamol. You might find that

00:10:00 --> 00:10:42
			headache goes. And you might find that your headache doesn't go. But as for Shiva, it is something
which is certain that it is going to bring that relief because the Shiva is what happens after you
take the medicine. So Allah subhanaw taala does not describe the Quran as a medicine. He describes
it as a cure. It's much better than a medicine, a medicine might work, it might not work. But as for
the Quran, it is a cure. It is a guaranteed cure for the sicknesses that are in the heart. And we'll
talk about how this encompasses the sicknesses of the body. later on. Lima is pseudo meaningful,
what is in the hearts for what is in the hearts. It is a cure from the ignorance. It is a cure from

00:10:42 --> 00:11:23
			misguidance. It is a cure from the super heart, those false notions and false doubts that are spread
amongst the people, the lies of the people of innovation, and the statements of the people of
ignorance that are spread around the people in this spread like wildfire. And they cause a person to
doubt the knowledge that they have. The Quran is a cure for this. And it is a cure for your desires
for the Shahada, those things which bring you to disobey Allah subhanaw taala when your soul is
calling you to do evil, the Quran is a cure from this as well. And then Allah subhanaw taala does
not only describe the Quran as a cure, he says we're houden and it is a guidance. It is that which

00:11:23 --> 00:12:03
			takes you out of misguidance and brings you to guidance. And then Allah subhanaw taala says, Wah ma
to limit meaning, and it is in mercy for the believers. And Allah subhanaw taala. Why does he
specifically mentioned the believers, it's not a mercy for the disbelievers. And we're going to talk
a little bit about that later. But essentially, because the believers are the ones who benefit from
it, as for the disbelief that he listens to it, but it doesn't benefit him anything, it doesn't lead
to him acting upon it, it doesn't lead to him remembering it, it doesn't lead to him taking an
admonition from Allah subhanaw taala. And fearing Alon returning back to himself, it doesn't lead to

00:12:03 --> 00:12:46
			any of that. So it is only of benefit to the believers. And we'll talk a little bit about that in a
moment. First of all, let's have a look at what Imam tabari Rahim Allah has to say about this ayah.
And the particular methodology of the sheer who wrote this book that I'm sort of taking extracts
from today is that he is very, very picky that he quotes. He focuses on those sort of scholars of
Tafseer who were known for the correctness of their belief. And we know in tafsir, we will come
across many books of Tafseer for which the authors were not known for the correctness of their
belief and some of them they had various problems in in the sort of things that they believed and

00:12:46 --> 00:13:18
			they sort of mixed their Tafseer with their own sort of opinion and things like that. But if we go
back to the likes of Alabama poverty rahima hula, one of that Mr. Addison Noel jemar, one of the
Imams of Allison odnr. What does Alabama tabari has to say about this? He says about First of all,
he talks about mo ADA, what does this mean? He says this means a large remembrance, which reminds
you of the punishment of Allah and it makes you fear the threat of this punishment. The threat of
punishment from Allah Spano tala,

00:13:19 --> 00:13:30
			from your Lord knows, he says, it is not from Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam nor did any other
person invented, its truthfulness is guaranteed.

00:13:31 --> 00:14:11
			And then he says that all of this this mo Ada that he has just described, so this reminder that
reminds you and makes you fear the punishment of Allah and it's not from Mohammed sallallahu alayhi
wasallam it's or it's not from anybody who has invented it or created it. He says this that I am
talking about this mo ADA, it is the Quran it is the book of Allah as origin. And what does that
mean mama poverty, Rahim Allah say about chiffon. What she found the mouth is full door. He says it
is a medicine for the ignorance which resides in the hearts by which Allah subhanaw taala cures the
ignorance of the ignorant people such that they are relieved of their sickness, and by which Allah

00:14:11 --> 00:14:39
			guides whoever he wills of his creation. And then he comes to talk about the word houda. And he
says, a clarification of the halaal and the Hallam and a guidance of what constitutes obedience to
Allah, and what constitutes disobedience to Allah Subhana Allah, look at how they understand one
word. We hear the word Huda and we think guidance. We think we understand what does he say? He says,
who that is a clarification of the halaal and the haraam.

00:14:40 --> 00:14:59
			And it is a guide to what constitutes obedience to Allah, and what constitutes disobedience to
Allah. And then he talks about the word rock man, he says, it is a Mercy by which Allah has mercy on
whoever he wills of his creation, saving him from misguidance and destruction and this is
specifically

00:15:00 --> 00:15:45
			For the believers specifically for the believers, rather than those who disbelieve in it, because
the one who disbelieves in it is blinded to it, and in the Hereafter, the recompense of his
disbelief is eternity in the hellfire. This is what Allah tabari has to say about this ayah and then
we come on to an Imam Ibn katheer Rahim Allah What does he have to say about this? Ayah so he starts
by talking about moreover murghab become he says it's an admonition against immorality against
Bashar. It's something that is strongly telling you to, to break away and to abandon all kinds of
immorality, everything which is evil, everything which is unclean. He says it's this is what it is

00:15:45 --> 00:16:03
			from Allah subhanaw taala. What she thought only Murphy's pseudo, he says it is it is a cure from
doubts and false notions. And it is something which removes filth and impurity, while houden wahama.
And by it guidance and mercy from Allah are achieved. And this is only for

00:16:04 --> 00:16:22
			those who believe in it and are certain about it. And then he mentions an evidence for this. He says
the evidence that this is only for the believers, he mentioned several ayat. He mentioned the
statement of Allah subhanaw taala while Yun azumino for an MA Hua, she found what Mattoon Lily
meaning?

00:16:24 --> 00:16:26
			What is Ito? Vitamina illa cassara

00:16:27 --> 00:16:52
			he says he mentions an ayah he says my evidence for saying this, that it's only for the believers is
the statement of Allah that Allah reveals a sense down from the Quran, that which is a Shiva a cure.
Generally doesn't say the math is pseudo here, it's completely general a cure and a mercy for the
believers alone, not for anybody else. And it does not increase the oppressive people except in
loss.

00:16:54 --> 00:17:16
			It's no Shiva for them. It doesn't increase them except in loss. And then he meant he mentioned
another statement of Allah subhanaw taala in sort of facilite He says, cool. Who will larina Amano?
Who then was Shiva, say it is for those who believe only those who believe it is a guidance, and it
is a cure.

00:17:17 --> 00:17:59
			So he mentioned this. And then we come to the statement of Imam assadi Rahim Allah, and will lie
Johan and I say to this very sincere that you if I came today, and I just read you this statement of
a Saudi in sha Allah, it would be very, very beneficial. We more than enough benefit from this talk.
Just to hear this explanation of a Saudi what he says and I'm going to read it in full alamanda
Saudi when he talks about what she finally managed to do, he says this Quran is a cure for what is
in the hearts, whether it is illnesses of the desires, which are uncontrolled, uncontrolled desire,
you can't control what you want, what you covet, whether it is women, whether it is money, whether

00:17:59 --> 00:18:12
			it is status, you can't control that desire, it's a cure for that, or illnesses have the false
notions and the doubts that are spread and smear a person's certain knowledge. So you come with
certain knowledge and then someone starts to whisper.

00:18:13 --> 00:18:58
			Yeah, can you see this Quran, it's like this, and it's like this and it has this in it, and you
start and your certain knowledge, it starts to become dirty, it starts to become smeared. He says,
it is a cure for this. Since there is in the call an exhortation, encouragement, warning, and a
threat and a promise, which causes the slave to hope and fear. And if hope and fear, if hope for
good and if fear for evil are found in a person, then this necessitates that they put that which
allow once over that which what they saw once Subhan Allah, He says the exhortation in the Quran the
encouragement in the Quran, the threat in the Quran, the promise of Paradise in the Quran, if this

00:18:58 --> 00:19:12
			is present in a person it leads to what it leads to hope and it leads to fear. And if hope and fear
are present in a slave, what is this lead, it means they put what our last panel tala loves in front
of what their own souls desire.

00:19:13 --> 00:19:55
			And more than this, he says similarly, that which be that which they put that which their soul wants
ahead, and then he says similarly, the proofs which are found in the Quran, which Allah has
explained in the clearest way, they remove the false notions which smear the truth and they take the
heart to the highest level of your team. Your heart reaches the highest level of your pain, absolute
certainty in the book in the book of Allah in the speech of Allah is so urgent, your heart reaches
this level, and the heart if the heart is healthy and free from illness, and if it is cured, and
this is I think, the golden thing that a Sadie says, if the heart is free from illness, then the

00:19:55 --> 00:19:57
			limbs will follow

00:19:58 --> 00:20:00
			and this is what we call in our

00:20:00 --> 00:20:24
			Big taylorism bainer albertan worldwide are a vital button. This is what we call the link between
the inner self and the outer self. If you purify your heart, guess what your actions will follow,
you will start to purify the actions that you do. And you will not see anybody who comes and does
the worst actions who has a pure heart.

00:20:25 --> 00:20:50
			There is a link between the inner self and the outer self. And this is what a Sadie says. He says
that if the heart is free of illness, and it is cured, then the limbs will follow because they are
purified by the purification of the heart and they are corrupted by the corruption of the heart. And
then he goes on to say what is Buddha, he says, Who there is to know the truth and act upon it.

00:20:52 --> 00:21:04
			He says who that is to know the truth and act upon it. And then he says, What is Rama? He says Rama
is the good which happens and the rewards of this life and the next for those who are guided by the
Quran.

00:21:06 --> 00:21:52
			And then he gives some wonderful advice. He says guidance is the most honorable of means. And Mercy
is the most complete of aims. It's the best goal that you can have to attain the mercy of Allah
subhanaw taala. However, nobody will be guided by this Koran. And nobody will have its mercy other
than the believers. And if the guidance and the mercy that accompanies this Koran occurs, then so
does contentment, success, profit, salvation, happiness and joy. This is what a Sadie says. He says
that when you attain this Huda, this guidance and this Rama and where does it come from? It comes
from the Shiva it comes from the cure of the hearts. So your hearts are cured and your illnesses

00:21:52 --> 00:22:16
			fall away from the heart and then your limbs follow and you achieve guidance. You get knowledge and
you act upon it and you achieve mercy from Allah subhanaw taala and this is your aim, then what do
you achieve? contentment, success, profit, salvation, happiness and joy. And I think this is a
fantastic explanation and a very, very, very, very important point for people to take away.

00:22:18 --> 00:23:00
			Next we'll talk about an important benefit as to why the concern is only guidance and mercy and a
cure for the believers. Allah subhanaw taala mentions this very specifically and we mentioned the
ayah, which Eben Cartier used to prove that the Shiva in the Quran and the the the cure in the
Quran, the mercy and the guidance is for the believers. And the chef, he makes a point here he says,
because they believe in it, they act upon it and they are guided by its guidance. So this is our
approach to the Quran. We believe in it. We act upon it and we allow ourselves to be guided by its
guidance. We are motivated by its exhortation when Allah says do this. We are motivated we find a

00:23:00 --> 00:23:01
			motivation in it.

00:23:02 --> 00:23:36
			When the disbelievers turned away from it and disbelieved in it, they were forbidden the good of it,
and they were forbidden the guidance that comes from it. What is the evidence from a chef who makes
this point he says the evidence for this is the statement of Qatada. Rahim Allahu taala Qatada, who
we know was from the mouth of the tabbing Qatada says, Allah subhanaw taala made the Quran a
guidance and glad tidings for the believers because the believer when he hears the Quran Now listen
to this guidance from Qatada Rahim Allah Azza wa Qatada has to say,

00:23:37 --> 00:23:50
			when the believer hears the Quran, he memorizes it, he takes it on board, he benefits from it, he
finds rest bite in it, he believes in the promise of reward in it and he is certain of that.

00:23:51 --> 00:24:26
			And this is only true for the believer, and this is our approach to the Quran. we memorize it. We
take the message on board, it doesn't go over our heads, we take it on board, we benefit from it, we
find it man we find, you know we find tranquility and peace in it. We believe in the promise of the
reward that is mentioned and we are certain of it more certain than we are of anything else. And
this is why it only benefits the believers.

00:24:27 --> 00:24:59
			As for the relation of these ayat to the topic, I think it's very clear that Allah subhanaw taala
informs us that the Quran is a cure for what is in the hearts. The heart is the place of ignorance.
The heart is the place of false notions misguidance false impressions. The heart is the place of
desires. The heart is the place of sadness. The heart is the place of depression, the extent of
piety and the corruption of an individual depends largely on the extent of the piety and corruption
of their heart. So when Allah subhanaw taala

00:25:00 --> 00:25:40
			tells us that the iron is a shifa for the hearts. This is something which clearly shows us that we
should be using the Quran to seek a cure from for all of these illnesses. And this statement is a
clear proof for the permissibility of seeking a cure for everything which afflicts the hearts
through what? Through reciting the Quran, through acting upon the Quran, and through seeking a cure
through the Quran. So what do we do to seek the cure? We recite the Quran, we act upon the Quran,
and then we do those things which we're going to mention at the very end of the talk, inshallah, in
the next sort of 10 minutes or so, about those things which

00:25:41 --> 00:26:23
			those things which are means of seeking help from the Quran, or seeking a cure from the Quran? Why
is it that Allah Subhana Allah calls the Quran, a Shiva, I'm not a medicine, we said that it is
certainty of achieving the desired result as opposed to medicine which may work or may not work very
briefly. I will read you just very very, very quickly what even Okm has to say about the Quran as a
cure. Even Okay, him says the Quran is the most complete cure from all physical and psychological
illnesses, the illnesses of this world and the illnesses of the hereafter. Not everyone is capable.
Nor is everyone given the success of seeking a cure from it. If the sick person uses the proper

00:26:23 --> 00:26:39
			method of using the Quran as a medicine, with the belief and complete faith and acceptance and firm
belief in it as a cure, and he fulfills all of the conditions no disease will ever overcome him. Why
does it say that no disease will ever overcome him. He says,

00:26:42 --> 00:27:10
			How can a disease overcome the speech of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the speech which if
it was sent upon a mountain would render that mountain to dust, the speech that it was sent upon the
earth would break the earth into pieces, there is no illness of the heart or the body except that
the Quran contains the means to guide how to cure it, why it happens and how to protect from it for
those who Allah grants the understanding of his book.

00:27:11 --> 00:27:25
			As for the diseases of the heart, Allah subhanaw taala mentions them in detail along with their
causes and the method of curing them. So the one who is not cure disease even Okay, in speech, he
says, the one who is not cured by the Quran, May Allah not cure him.

00:27:26 --> 00:27:40
			And he says, I'm the one who is not the Quran is not sufficient for him. May Allah not suffice him
in anything that he does. This is what he says. He says, If you can't find a cure in the book of
Allah, then May Allah never cure you.

00:27:41 --> 00:28:05
			And if you can't find in the book of Allah, that which is enough for you to satisfy your needs, then
May Allah never satisfy your needs. This is what even Hakim says, He says, House of Allah, what
illness can stand in the way of the speech of the head, the Lord of the heavens and earth,
absolutely nothing. But it's all down to our belief. It's all down to our belief and our
understanding.

00:28:07 --> 00:28:47
			Even Okay, and goes on to say, he says, It is known that certain things that we say, in our speech
have particular unique special sort of qualities to them, and proven benefits. What does he mean?
You know, when some people give a speech, it removes you, some people talk and moves you to tears,
some people talk and it motivates you to do something, if this is our speech, even Okay, it says, if
our speech human speech has so many proven benefits, and certain speech can be so special, that it
can drive a person to do something. Then he says, What do you think of the speech of the Lord of the
worlds, the one who the virtue of his speech over the virtue of the speech of others, is like the

00:28:47 --> 00:28:51
			virtue of him jelgava Allah over the virtue of his creation.

00:28:53 --> 00:29:13
			So if our speech has benefit for us, and if our speech can motivate a person, and you can have
someone on their deathbed and you can see a struggle, fight, you know, fight for it, and that can
make that person change. Then what about the speech of Allah subhanaw taala the comparison of the
speech of Allah to our speech is like the difference between Allah Subhana Allah and His creation.

00:29:15 --> 00:29:18
			There is nothing like him and he is a semi albasini

00:29:21 --> 00:29:35
			and even Okay, him says here, the Quran is the perfect cure, and it is a beneficial means of
protection and a guiding light and a general mercy. And if it was sent down upon a mountain, it
ended a Sunday from the greatness and its glory.

00:29:36 --> 00:29:54
			And then he says here that when a Lost Planet Allah mentions in a certain ayah, that from the Quran
that which is Shiva, the from here does not mean bits of the ANA Shiva, but it means that the Quran
is as a general noun, the generality of the poor and the whole of it is a mercy from Allah subhanho
wa Taala.

00:29:56 --> 00:29:59
			What we'll do this we'll skip over the rest of the ayat

00:30:01 --> 00:30:40
			briefly to talk about an important point, just looking at the time because we said the time is very,
very short, to talk about how the Shiva is not restricted to the heart. So far we've heard the IR
that mentioned the heart and we've heard an ayah, which doesn't mention the heart. But here, the
majority of the scholars of Tafseer, with the exception of Hassan Rahim Allah said that the general
principle is that words are to be taken in their widest possible context. When Allah says Shiva,
you're to take that as a completely general term. And it's not for us to restrict it to a certain
illness, rather than another illness without an evidence. And then the shape goes on to say that the

00:30:40 --> 00:31:21
			Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah sigh Selim confirms this and explains this a case where the sooner
as is normally the case, explains and clarifies the Koran. So where people might have read the ayah,
where she thought only math is so dull, and thought that it means that the Quran is only a cure for
the disease of the heart and it can't cure the diseases of the body. We say first of all, the ayat
which are general should be taken in precedence and second of all, the Sunnah of the Messenger of
Allah sighs elements we're going to hear confirms several incidents of using the Quran to treat
medical illnesses other than issues of gene possession other than magic other than, say, diseases of

00:31:21 --> 00:32:03
			the heart that the Quran was used to treat ordinary medical illnesses, texts from the Sunnah very,
very, very briefly, the first one narrated by Imam Al Bukhari and Muslim from Abu Zubaydah hoodie
that a group of the companions Robbie Allahu anhu, set out traveling until they came to a tribe from
amongst the tribe of the Arabs. They sought food and shelter from them, but they refuse to give them
food and shelter. They were very rude. They refuse to give the companions any help. They refuse to
let them stay with them. And they said be on your way. a scorpion stung the leader of the tribe. His
people tried everything to help him but nothing worked. One of them said why don't we go to that

00:32:03 --> 00:32:13
			group of people who came perhaps they will have something so they came to the group and they said,
Our leader has been stung and we have tried everything to no avail. We've tried everything.

00:32:14 --> 00:32:25
			Do any of you have anything that you can use or anything you can suggest to cure our leader of this
Scorpion sting? One of them said yes, by Allah, I will perform Rukia on him.

00:32:26 --> 00:32:34
			But by Allah, we sought food and shelter from you and you refuse to give it to us. So I will not
perform Rokia until you pay us a fee.

00:32:35 --> 00:33:14
			And so they agreed upon a number of sheep in the Muslim Imam Akhmed. It is mentioned that there was
30 sheep the number of the companions who are present and the companion who was outside Alhaji
rhodiola and recited al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen Surah Fatiha seven times in the Muslim Imam
Ahmed. And the leader jumped up as though he was freed from chains as law you know, the, what they
call them. They call that sort of thing people have around their head. They used to use it to tie
the legs of the camels. And it's as if he had his hands tied like to tie the legs of a camel. And
then when Abu Saeed recited a 30 hat on him seven times, he jumped up as though there was nothing

00:33:14 --> 00:33:16
			wrong with him at all.

00:33:17 --> 00:33:51
			And he went walking with no sign of sickness on him whatsoever, the narrator said, so they gave them
the fee which they agreed upon. One of the companions said, split this between us share it out, we
all take a sheep each. And I will say aid rhodiola. And he said do nothing until we reach the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and we tell him what happened so that we can see what He
commands us. And they came to the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and they told him
and he said to Ambleside, how did you know or what made you know that it was a rockier? He said You
did the right thing.

00:33:52 --> 00:34:10
			You did the right thing. divide up the wealth and give me a share. And then the Messenger of Allah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam laughed. So in this we have a number of evidences, first of all the
effect of the Quran on that person who was suffering from a medical illness a scorpion sting poison,
regular Scorpion sting.

00:34:11 --> 00:34:48
			Secondly, the approval of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Thirdly, that the prophets I
seldom said to him I subbed or in another rewire, he said, I sent you did the right thing you did?
Well, fourthly, the prophets why Selim took a portion Why did he take a portion to show the people
that this wealth was halaal in case the people had some doubt over it, maybe he just allowed it
once? Maybe it's just they took the sheep and you know, let it off this time, nor the processing,
give me a share. I will eat as well to show the people that this wealth is absolutely pure. What you
did, and it shows its complete permissibility Abu Saeed had prior understanding where did this from

00:34:48 --> 00:34:59
			the companions didn't just do things from their own opinion. The Companions did things when they
learned from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. All of the other companions saw him do what he
was doing and he said I will perform

00:35:00 --> 00:35:07
			And none of the other 3029 companions did anything to stop him, which showed that they were
confident as well.

00:35:08 --> 00:35:46
			And in a narration, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, the most deserving
thing that you take money for is the book of Allah. The most deserving thing that you take a wage
for is the book of Allah. And this is at the end of the Hadith. So this again shows the
permissibility of the cure that Abu Seidel totally wrote the alarm on used. In another narration,
the prophets lie Selim said, Take it from them in the command take it from them, and the scholars
say this particular word, take it from them, it's there for a reason, because it tells you not only
was it permissible for them in the past, but inshallah it's permissible for them to do the same

00:35:46 --> 00:36:22
			thing again in the future. So it's a guidance from the oma he's not saying simply do it, or you did
Okay, that was fine for what you did you know, you did the best. Take it from them in the future,
take it from them if the same situation happens, the laughing of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam, and the fact that the other companions approved. All of these are clear evidences, and we
have a number of things to sort of read and a number of statements, but inshallah looking at the
time, we skip over a few things and come to another Hadees the hadith of cartagia Eman assault from
his paternal uncle rhodiola. And who said, we came to the Prophet from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:36:22 --> 00:37:03
			wasallam, we came to a tribe of the Arabs. They said, We have been informed that you have come from
this man, this prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was good. So do you have a medicine? Do you have
a medicine for us? Or Rukia? Because we have a man that is suffering from madness. We said yes. And
so they brought the one was afflicted by insanity. And they read upon him alfalfa for three days,
morning and evening. They read upon him a little fat for three days, morning and evening, and he
would blow with his spirit. He would blow and he would spit knowledge, drive law, what we call an F,
he would brought blow and spit on the person. And the person got up as though he had been released

00:37:03 --> 00:37:45
			from chains. They gave me a wage, and I said to them, I will not take any money from you until I ask
the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So I asked him and he said, eat it, meaning take
it, devour it, take the money, by my life, whoever did there are people who they take this money and
falsehood and you have taken it by a true Rukia. That is what the prophet SAW Selim said, you have
taken it by a true Rukia you've taken it from something good that you did. So again, the reading of
alpha T has a cure for a regular sickness, this man had no general sale, he had was suffering from
madness, the Surah 230 How was recited upon him, he was spent spat upon with a wet kind of blowing,

00:37:45 --> 00:38:20
			and the prophet SAW Selim again showed his approval. And he said you have earned this are you he
literally said you have eaten and in Arabic we use that word sometimes to mean to you've earned the
wealth with a true Rukia in Hadith number four, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to
when he was a blow on himself with more with us, and he used to wipe over his body with his hand,
and when he became ill in the sickness, which led to his death shot of your loved one, and he says
that she used to blow on him with the same thing he used to read, but instead of using her hands to
wipe over him, she would blow into his hand and use his hand and in one duration, seeking the Baraka

00:38:20 --> 00:38:59
			of his hand, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and in another Hadith that the Messenger of Allah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam entered upon Ayesha when she was treating somebody a woman was treating
Arusha with Rukia and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to the woman, treat her with the
book of Allah, treat her with the book of Allah. Likewise, in a hadith it is mentioned that the one
of the companions, even Mallika lashay, said, we used to perform Rukia in pre Islamic times of
ignorance. So we said O Messenger of Allah, what do you think of that? He said, Show me your Rokia
for there is no harm in Rukia as long as it does not contain schilke. Now if this is true of any

00:38:59 --> 00:39:38
			Rokia, what do you think about the book of Allah azza wa jal is the prophets, I said allows us to
harbor to recite anything that they used to say before as long as it did not contain Sure, then what
do you think about the book of Allah subhanaw taala it is even clearer that this is a shift. And
this is a means of a cure for all illnesses, whether they are spiritual, physical, medical, whatever
form they take, and for Rukia to be valid, there are three conditions about which there is each man
consensus of the aroma and this each marriage is mentioned, by a habit of an agile In fact, Halle
Berry and by the mom, and now we brought him home or in his Sha, Allah Sahih Muslim. He says, first

00:39:38 --> 00:39:59
			of all, that our laws speech and names and attributes are used. Second of all, that it is Arabic or
that it is a language which is clearly understood, such as clear English or clear another clear
language and thirdly, belief that the Rokia alone does not benefit but Allah Subhana Allah is the
one who benefits and if we look at these conditions, or three

00:40:00 --> 00:40:35
			present in the book of Allah as the wedge in the last Hadith that we will mention very quickly
before we come on to the different ways of using the Quran as a treatment. A Hadith in Sahih, Muslim
from Jabir ibn Abdullah the Allahu anhu. Ma. I was aware of the narrator from Jabba who said, I
heard Jabba say that a man among us was stung by a scorpion, while we were sitting with the
Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the man came and another man came and he said, O
Messenger of Allah, should I perform Loki on this man? The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam said, Whoever of you is able to help his brother let him do so. In another word, in jabber,

00:40:35 --> 00:41:12
			he said, I had a maternal uncle who performed Rukia on those who were stung by scorpions, and the
Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had forbidden many kinds of Rukia. And so he came to
him and said, O Messenger of Allah, it is reached me that you have forbidden Rukia. And I use Rukia
to treat people with scorpion stings. So what do you think of that? Or what would you advise me on
that the prophet SAW, Selim said, Whoever is able to help his brother than let him do so. And in
another narration, he said, I see no harm in it, whoever of you is able to let help his brother, let
him do so or benefit his brother, let him do so. So the fact that the prophets I Sam said there was

00:41:12 --> 00:41:53
			no harm in it, the fact that he encouraged the man to do so. And the fact that the Quran is again
more deserving of being used as a rockier than simply the statement of the people that was in the
example of the Hadith. These are a few of that Hadith that tell us the permissibility of using the
Quran as a cure. As for the methods of Rokia very, very, very quickly, we're just going to run
through them one by one without the deal because we have not much time before the event. First of
all, reading alone, simply reading simply the sound of the Quran, not from a tape or a CD, simply
the sound, why not from a tape or a CD, because Rukia is on the breath. And also because it requires

00:41:53 --> 00:42:27
			intention. And it requires sort of thought of what you're doing, as opposed to someone who's just
simply playing a copy of a party on the CD. That's not to say that that doesn't benefit, but it's
not of the same benefit as the one who recites so just the sound of the Quran alone, and the
Messenger of Allah, I sell them on these two other the prophets so much dimension, for example, as
he will about sort of badness issue Anta sheffey, la Shiva, Illa, Shiva, Shiva, la y, the little
sarcoma, and there are many, many other, many, many other things from those which gibreel used to
read upon the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and for more doors which the prophet SAW Selim

00:42:27 --> 00:42:39
			used to read upon other people for medical conditions and for other things. The next way is reading
and blowing. So reading and also blowing with dry air, no spit, just

00:42:40 --> 00:43:18
			dry air blowing with dry air. And again, there is evidence for this in three Hadith of the Messenger
of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that this was done. Thirdly, Rukia with spitting. So in this
time, it's a wet kind of spit, a little bit of spittle comes on to the person. And again, there are
two or three Hadith of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu wasallam, that this was either done in his
presence or that he did it or it was done to him. Fourthly, reading and wiping so reading into the
hands, and then wiping over the body, we know the Messenger of Allah is telling us to do this, I
used to do it. And in another Hadith, it says that he used to do it to his family when they were

00:43:18 --> 00:44:02
			sick. The Prophet size M used to do it to his family and his wives when they were sick. And he used
to say, a lot more openness and people backstage we undershelf ila Shiva, Shiva, Shiva and llevado
sarcoma, and there are other Hadees regarding this 50 reading and placing the hand on the place of
pain. And again, this is between those people who are if we're talking about men and women, between
a man for the man and woman, it's not for a non Muharram to put his hand on a foot on a woman who's
not his mom. So that's to be very clear, but in terms of this is a valid again, there is a Hadith of
the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam from Arusha, said that her father said that

00:44:03 --> 00:44:42
			he was suffering from something in Makkah, and the prophet SAW Selim came to visit him, he put his
hand on the place where it was causing him the pain and then he wiped over his chest and his stomach
and then he said along mushfiq Sidon, and he said, Oh, luck your side, and allow him to complete
this age 60 reading and blowing and wiping the hands. So that's reading and blowing and wiping the
hand as opposed to just reading and wiping the hand. All of these I mentioned in the center, reading
and putting spittle on the finger, so spitting on the finger reading and letting the finger get wet
with spittle, and then touching the earth and touching the sick person. Again, there is a Hadith of

00:44:42 --> 00:44:59
			the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam from Arusha, that if someone would complain of
something, or he was had a wound, a particular type of wound, then the Messenger of Allah Li Selim
would spit onto his finger and he would touch the earth. Then he would raise it up and he would say
Bismillah

00:45:00 --> 00:45:22
			This is the earth of our This is the soil of our earth. And it is the spittle of sort of one of us
so that we can cure the sickness with the permission of our Lord. And there are in this the correct
opinion the opinion which was supported by the mom and now in a blockchain, Rahim Allah is that any
Earth can be used not just the earth of Medina,

00:45:23 --> 00:45:59
			eight fleet putting salt in water and putting it on the place of pain while reciting over the person
for one who is bitten by a snake or scorpion. Again, we have a Hadith of the Messenger of Allah
sighs I'm support this reading and mixing Earth and water mixing dirt and water and pouring it over
reading onto the water and pouring it over the person. Again we have a hadith of savages in place
for this and tentatively writing something from the Quran and putting it into water and then
drinking it or bathing in it, this is the one in which there is some disagreement amongst the LMR
from the LMR those who allowed it and from the amount of those who prevented it and if someone

00:45:59 --> 00:46:38
			avoids the doubtful for the other nine which are clear, then this is inshallah good. But if we were
to talk about a sort of a general idea for the permissibility then we would say that generally it is
permissible all of the Quran is described as Shiva and many of the pious predecessors did saw
including scheffel Islam, Ibn taymiyyah Rahim Allah and some of the tablet ins such as Mujahid and
layth and Saudi Arabia and some of those who followed them like Allah Muhammad and Kali, Al Khali al
and others and even okay him. So all of them allowed putting writing the plan and putting it into
water and then putting it over the person or having them drink it and again this is something which

00:46:38 --> 00:47:09
			there is disagreement and so if a person avoids it inshallah tada then this has been relayed to
Allah better. This is what we had time for now. Very, very condensed to talk about so much in such a
short space of time, but inshallah Allah will be a benefit for everyone We ask Allah Spano Tata to
teach us that which benefits us and to benefit those without which he teaches us and to increases in
knowledge and to allow us to benefit from the Quran as a guidance and as a mercy and as a cure for
every illness. Joseph malo head on radical lofi from sub panic a lot more behind the shadows.
